X-Men Origins: Wolverine Alright since the movie is finally out, I can now do an official review. This movie sucked. Well, it was alright. It started out really good, and it was all down hill from there. the CGI was HORRIBLE. And they CGI-ed everything. It was ridiculous. I suggest not doing close ups on Wolverine's adamantium claws if you can't make them look like something other than plastic. Deadpool(Wade Wilson) and Gambit steal the movie. Even though they both have about 10 minutes screen time. Will.I.Am should take some acting classes, and I definitely would have picked a different mutant to put in my movie other than The Blob, but whatever. You can watch this movie but don't expect anything great. Oh, and don't sit through all the credits to see the final scene. It's not worth it. So yeah, it gets three stars, but a very disappointing stars.
ZZ Top - I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide
Fighting SO, you go to see a movie called "Fighting" and you expect to see some, well, fighting, right? Wrong. There's a total of 4 fights in this movie, and they aren't very good fights either. Terrence Howard acts as sort of a talent scout for this underground boxing ring. He decides that Channing Tatum has what it takes to be great after seeing him throw two punches at a kid half his size. The kid doesn't even get knocked out. But anyways, of the four fights that he enters, he only wins two of them straight up, and I was never really convinced that he's a good fighter. I don't understand why Terrence Howard's character has to sing all of his words and why everything Channing Tatum says is a question. They tried to mix in an interesting background story to make the final fight more climatic, but it feels rushed, and I found it hard to care. Best thing about this movie is the soundtrack...and the grandma.
Hannah Montana: The Movie This movie was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. It probably would have gotten a higher rating if it didn't have Tyra Banks in it. Actually, the biggest problem I had with it is the silliness. I hate when the main character in a movie decides that instead of telling the truth, it would be better to run back and fourth between two places, trying to act like two different people. Plus Lily should have been in it more, she's the best. Anyways, I'd this movie again. It's almost as good as The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Observe and Report Observe and Report was a little bit too dark of a comedy for me. It was funny, and I enjoyed it, but at times it felt empty. I'd still recommend seeing it, but don't expect a typical Seth Rogen movie. BTW, WTF happened to Anna Faris' lips?
Obssesed This movie is no different from any other Fatal Attraction type movie. It was good enough to keep my attention though. The main character could have saved himself A LOT of trouble by just telling the truth, but noooooo, he decides to be stupid about it. I guess smart people don't make very entertaining main characters. The fight scene between Beyonce(who does a pretty good acting job) and Ali Larter is a bit ridiculous, but whatever. Girls will love this movie.
Crank 2: High Voltage Speaking of ridiculous. This movie is the most ridiculous thing ever. Honestly. Don't watch it. Especially if you haven't seen the first one. It was fun though.
I've been super slacking on the blog posts. My apologies, but the new movie reviews are here. Yay!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine I may or may not have seen this movie. I may or may not think that instead of just throwing millions of mutants into the movie, they should of only had a few, and spent more time developing them. I may or may not have really enjoyed both, Deadpool and Gambit, even though they could have looked a little bit more like their comic book counterparts. I may or may not be starting to like Ryan Reynolds more and more. I may or may not have thought Will.I.Am is a terrible good actor, and that 'The Blob' is a stupid character. BUT I do think that both Wolverine and Sabretooth are really cool and I recommend you watching it...next month.
Monsters vs. Aliens This movie is soooo clever. I really liked it. It's entertaining, takes place in the bay area, anddddd, it makes fun of the government. Grab a random little kid, and pretend like you're taking them to see it. It's worth it. Oh yeah, and Stephen Colbert plays the president.
12 Rounds Alright, this movie had a chance to be reallly good. I really enjoyed the plot, it was clever, and kind of in a way reminded me of 'Inside Man'. The only problem was, the acting was terrible. Well John Cena was terrible, and Steve Harris' character was poorly written. Brian White tried his best. Other than that, cool movie. I'd recommend watching it.
Haunting in Connecticut This movie was stupid. It A) Was not scary. B) Did not make any sense. C) Could have done so much more with that whole 'based on a true story' thing(when they say "based", they mean "very very very loosely based"). The only thing I did like was the casting. Good job Jim Heber.
Fast & Furious It's too bad this movie came out 3759293475 years after the original. I wish I could M.I.B. flashy thingy my memory of the previous sequels. Fun movie, there's a lot more plot than racing, and I kinda like it that way. Actually there's only one official race in the whole movie. I wish they could have thrown in a few more original characters though. They also left room for another sequel, not sure how I feel about that though. Anyways, go see this, especially if you liked the original as much as I did.(First DVD I ever bought.)
5 new movie reviews. I might want to make a living out of this.
I realllly enjoyed this movie. I'll agree it wasn't quite as creepy as the oringinal, but it did everything that I wanted it to do. Plus, everything about it felt real. The characters actually talked how people I know talk. The car crash looked pretty cool too. Go see it.
Jay-Z - Renegade (f/ Eminem)
The incredibly bad computer animation in this movie pissed me off. Other than that, it didn't really make sense. They never really explain what's happening, and honestly I don't care. But somehow they plan to start a new world with two pre-pubescent kids, and some bunny rabbits?
I thought the boy in this movie did a really good job. And I finally saw The Rock as an actor, instead of a wrestler pretending to be an actor. But the movie still wasn't very good. 'Escape to Witch Mountain' from the 90's was waaaaaay better. But honestly, I'd watch this again.
This is like a Quentin Tarantino movie, minus Quentin Tarantino. It was interesting for a while, but it got boring over time. I did enjoy the ending though. I still can't figure out why Paul Giamatti was so good in 'The Illusionist' but not very good in anything else.
Paul Rudd is trying really hard to become one of my favorite actors. This movie was hella funny, and not just because the main character reminds me of a certain Schenton Boenwald. Go on a man date to see this movie, it will be better that way, I promise.
That's pretty much all I can say. WATCHMEN was the best movie ever(since the dark knight is not a movie but a life altering experience). If you haven't read the graphic novel, you might want to look into it before you go watch it. Just so your head doesn't explode. The music in the movie is absolutely ridiculous though(in a good way). Tyler Bates is my new hero.
SO. In short: You need to see this movie, there's fighting, there's sexing, there's blood, there's excellent music, there's a big glowing blue penis. There's something for everyone.
That just made me want to review more movies, click "The Jump" to see them all.
Kid Cudi - Sky Might Fall
Believe it or not, I somehow watched this movie twice. It sucked both times. I did like that John Sally was in it though.
Nobody really expected this movie to be good. But I would have at least been satisfied if it had the slightest bit of STREET FIGHTING in it. But somehow, it couldn't even deliver that. DO NOT, see this movie.
Screw you. I liked it.
Take Madea out of this movie, and the entire thing still makes sense(she's pointless to the plot). But then again, take Madea out of this movie and there's absolutely no reason to watch it. Stop letting Tyler Perry trick you into thinking his movies are good!
This is the same horror movie they've been making for the last 3274627 years. So if you're into that sort of thing, more power to you.
This shit was CREEPY. But I kinda enjoyed it.
Other than this movie it's been a pretty sucky few weeks for movies. Thank God for Mickey Rourke.
It's possible I'm a little too obsessed with Batman.
Anyways! Today is SHAWN-WASHINGTON-MOVIE-REVIEW-DAY! Woo. That was exciting. Let's get started...
The pure gangster-ness of the main character almost made up for how unnessecarily long it was. ALMOST.
The never-ending date movie is saved by it's lovable characters.(Scarlett Johansson...enough said.)
If I ever need ANYTHING, ever, I'm definitely recruiting Liam Neeson to help me out.(After contacting Batman of course)
This is the best movie of 2009 so far, and I don't expect it to be shown up anytime soon. PLUS M.I.A. is all over the soundtrack. If you haven't seen this yet, stop reading, and go watch it.
2 hours of Clint Eastwood making racist jokes. What's not to like?
If anyone ever suggests watching this movie, just politely turn and walk away.
Ehhh. I'd watch it again.
I thought I'd hate this movie, but Dakota Fanning is just so convincing.
Better than expected, but still only 2 1/2 stars.(If you think you completely understood this movie, help me out.)
Even though the ending kinda pissed me off, this was still a good movie. Now all I have to do is find a hot 30 year old woman, who needs some loving.
Alright, that's it. Agree? Disagree? Let me knowwww.
